We include an engagement session with every wedding package because we love the opportunity they afford us to spend time with and to get to know our clients before each wedding! We choose locations that are relevant and meaningful to people, and we literally laugh and play for the entire time. Being on the other side of a camera is SUPPOSED to be fun, and that’s what we strive to do!
We’ve done an absolute pile of sessions lately and so this is one massive post to share something from each one. Terry & Preeti are getting married in Victoria next month, and we chose the site of their first date as the start of their engagement session. Between the Alibi Room and then a mini road trip up to the Cleveland Dam for the mountains and skies, these images were a tonne of fun to create. Their personalities truly shone through in each image we captured!

Wes & Sandy will be getting married next month and had one request for their engagement session - fields. Well, where else to find photo worthy fields but out past Mission? They were game so they hopped in our car and we headed out for a road trip photo session! Our amazing skies graced us once more for these images - they truly are spectacular. Thanks, guys, for trusting us that the perfect spot was just over another hill! We are looking forward to seeing you again next month.

Rob & Jill were featured just a few days ago for their Sooke Harbour House wedding. We headed out a few weeks ago for their engagement session along the seawall and at the beach, both places they’ve enjoyed spending time at. It was great to get to know them more before their wedding, and to get some great images at the same time.

Sahar & Chris were also featured this week for their wedding on Saturday. A few weeks ago we took photos near their new home by UBC as they are right across the street from Pacific Spirit Park. I loved that we could walk out their door and right into the park, which is the perfect way to escape when needed! They look so happy together!

Jose & Kristin were married earlier this month as well and we headed out to Iona Park with them for something different. The park is so wonderful - quiet and secluded, and yet full of amazing photo opportunities! We almost had a disaster as we got back to the cars and realized a set of keys was missing, but despite how big the park was we found them right away, so we all did get to go home after all

Deanna & Jimmy are getting married in Ucluelet in September! Jimmy works in the skateboarding industry, so a skate park was the perfect start to their engagement session. Rumour has it that their wedding venue was also chosen based on its proximity to the local skate park, so even though it’s a couple months away we are really excited about those getting ready photos with the guys! (unlike the gals who are busy with hair and makeup all morning, the guys tend to do anything but get ready

Cheryl & Corey will be getting married this weekend. They travelled from their home in San Francisco recently for their engagement session with us here in Gastown. We had a lot of fun playing with the architecture, and ensured that their pictures reflect a little piece of Vancouver now that they live so far away and miss the city!

And, finally, Rebecca & Joey will be getting married later this summer and we were able to hook up with them this week. Joey lives in San Diego and doesn’t come to Vancouver often, so we enjoyed finally getting to meet him. These guys were a blast! We had a lot of fun and are definitely looking forward to seeing them again for the wedding!

When we planned their engagement session we decided on “rain or shine” - the day was the best for their schedule, and really, what’s a little rain for Vancouver?
So, naturally, we had rain - and LOTS of it. That said, we had two incredibly in love people and it wouldn’t have mattered what the weather was doing. As they live nearby, we spent time this evening with them wandering around Granville Island. We got some great stuff, and I think the rain only prompted us to work a little harder as we had an extra element to consider for each shot!
We’re looking forward to the wedding in October, guys, and we can’t wait to share the rest of the images!

Earlier this month we did the engagement shoot of Lisa and Brian in advance of their March wedding. Way too much fun! We ran around Yaletown in the rain, looking for various nooks and crannies to capture the fun that these two were having all on their own. Here are a couple of our fav images - this will definitely be a wedding full of smiles and laughter, and we can’t wait!

We first met with Cheryl & Walt just 2 weeks ago and in super fast tracked style we shot their engagement session on Christmas Eve and we’ll be documenting their wedding on January 6th. Sometimes when you know what you want you know what you want - after life and problems with a double booked venue put their originally planned September wedding on hiatus they weren’t sure when things would come together. Rather than waiting though, they decided to take advantage of the slow season allowing them to pull together the perfect wedding for them in the shortest possible timeframe!
From the details we’ve heard the wedding is going to be fantastic, and the Vancouver Club will be the perfect backdrop. We’ll look forward to sharing the images from our first wedding of 2007 with you as soon as they’re ready!

We had the pleasure of finally meeting Agnes & Frankie a few weeks ago when they travelled to Vancouver from their home in Calgary - they booked us for their wedding earlier this year but this was the first opportunity they had to come down to Vancouver to visit and plan some more wedding details since. They’ll be getting married here next August and after their engagement shoot, we really can’t wait!
Besides, if this is what they wore for the engagement session, I can’t wait to see what the actual wedding attire looks like!

Andrew & Sara have settled on the month of April for their wedding, and if it’s anything like Andrew’s brother’s wedding earlier this year it’s going to be a fantastic time! These guys are just so much fun and so easy going, I’m looking forward to their wedding already.

While the original plans of a wedding in Vegas with all the bells and whistles didn’t materialize, the Vancouver based celebration being planned is bound to more than rival any Vegas do.
Vanessa and Nino are getting married in May of next year and we’ll be particularly looking forward to shooting at the Elliott Louis Gallery for their reception. Looking forward to it!

And, with a very short time from our last wedding of the season to our first of 2007, we are looking forward to shooting the wedding of Christina & Mounir in early February. With heritage buildings and vintage accessories being finalized for the day we’ll be planning some amazing images to kick off 2007!
Here are two of our favs from their recent engagement session

Amanda & Troy are getting married in December - a truly winter wedding! While we probably won’t be so lucky as to have snow, we’re looking forward to their wedding as the last of our 2006 season - we plan to finish off with a bang!
These are two of our favourite shots from their engagement session - here’s to looking at parkades in a new light!
