Sahar & Chris

Posted by wedding photographers Reilly & Miranda on June 26th, 2007

Sahar & Chris were married on Saturday at the new Celebration Pavilion in Queen Elizabeth park, and they held their reception there at Seasons Restaurant.

Sahar was the perfect classic bride - I loved how she had her hair done and her dresses (one for the day, and one to dance in!) were classic and gorgeous to match!

They chose for their photos to be of just them which afforded us lots of time to drive around the city with their classic Rolls Royce grabbing photos wherever we went.

A few minutes after their first look, here they are on the couch in their new home by UBC

I really loved that they used stones for their guestbook, allowing guests to write well wishes with a permanent gold marker. These are fantastic as they can be displayed in so many ways and in so many places in their home, and will be enjoyed I think more than a book that seldom gets opened.

Also, they chose to decorate their tables with the simple flower arrangements shown but more importantly with pictures they had taken from their many overseas trips to the countries featured on each one. Family and friends at the table were able to look through the photos and share the stories they had heard from the couple about each trip, and guests were encouraged to take any pictures that they really enjoyed.

And finally, getting to know both Sahar and Chris we really got to see the fun loving spirit they share. On that note, I think that this non traditional cake feeding shot shows a tonne of personality!

Congratulations again, guys! It was an honour to celebrate with you. See you after your honeymoon!

Rob & Jill

Posted by wedding photographers Reilly & Miranda on June 25th, 2007

Last weekend we travelled to the Sooke Harbour House on Vancouver Island for our 3rd destination event in a row! Rob & Jill travelled there with their close family and friends for their weekend away. What I love most about their choice in location is that it will be the perfect place to escape to for years to come for their anniversaries! The perfect retreat.

A few of our favourites so far - first, the flower girls!

Aimee & Sabrina

Posted by wedding photographers Reilly & Miranda on June 15th, 2007

Aimee and Sabrina travelled with their close family and friends from California to Tofino for their destination wedding this week. They were married on the beach and we went for a long walk thanks to the low tide for their photo session where we were able to capture some gorgeous images of these two ladies. Congratulations again to you both, and we hope you enjoyed your week in Tofino!

Keith & Julie

Posted by wedding photographers Reilly & Miranda on June 15th, 2007

Keith and Julie chose Bodega Ridge Lodge on Galiano Island as their perfect wedding destination. Avid cyclists and kayakers, the island was close enough to home yet still felt a million miles away and provided plenty of opportunities for both sports.

Here are a few of our favourite shots so far!

Lisa & Brian Get Hitched

Posted by wedding photographers Reilly & Miranda on March 15th, 2007

Lisa & Brian were married this past Saturday. In the backyard of the family home, they along with 20 of their closest friends and family gathered to celebrate!

Leo & Jeff

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on September 24th, 2006

Leo & Jeff made the treck up to Vancouver from their home in San Francisco with two of their closest friends to tie the knot last month. Everything was simply perfect from the view they had for their intimate ceremony to the bubbly and appies on the lawn at the Sequoia where they toasted their commitment to eachother.

Alusha & Sergey

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on September 11th, 2006

This was a last minute booking for us and despite meeting these two only a month before their late summer Sunday affair, their wedding turned into one of our favourites of the season.

First of all - this girl is made to model, and Sergey holds his own in her presence. Simply put, they were stunning! The dress jumped out at Alusha from the pages of a fashion magazine and was ordered without having ever been seen in person, and it was absolutely perfect. If anyone could pull off this dress, Alusha was the one to do it.

And then the details - oh the details. As they both work at Granville Island Florists the flowers were individually handpicked and were perfect down to each petal. From the paper lanterns in the trees to the floating candles in the pond, nothing was overlooked. I will never again take a second glance when I hear the words “just a small back yard affair…” because this back yard would put most wedding venues to shame!

The passion they have for eachother is ever so clear in each picture we took, and the love they share for their daughter was also such a big part of the day.

There were so many images and it will be a while before we can go through them all, but for now here are a few of our favourites!

Steve & Michael

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on July 9th, 2006

You’ll remember Steve & Michael from the engagement session we did a while back. Well, on July 1st, they were hitched!

The wedding took place at the Peace Arch which couldn’t have been a more appropriate spot. The sky was blue, the day beautiful, and family and friends from both sides of the border came to celebrate with them on a very memorable Canada Day.

Of course, the day wouldn’t have been complete without a very, very sweet ride to add the final touch. The shot of the Mercedes is of the grooms as they drove away from the Peace Arch and into married life!

Erica & Max

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on June 10th, 2006

Erica & Max were married on May 28th on the beach. Everything was beautiful. Erica was simply stunning and took the wind on the beach with grace! Their wedding was really about celebration and family. Everyone stepped in to add a really personal touch - from the fantastic meal arranged and prepared by her brother the chef and his friends to the cake lovingly made by Max and his mom.

Rosemary & David

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on May 30th, 2006

On May 23 Rosemary & David eloped and were married on Salt Spring Island. What an amazing day! The stop to be wed was in the middle of a 16 day sail on their prized sailboat. The spot they chose couldn’t have been more perfect, and what a better way to spend the evening than to go for a short cruise?

Congrats again guys!
