Got Craft?

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on June 1st, 2007

Our friends over at Lotus Events recently put on a great craft show - Got Craft? - and we had the opportunity to get out to check out the goods and to snap a few photos while we were there.

For those of you who haven’t been out to a craft show in a while, you’re missing out! Not to be mistaken with Grandma’s crafts (although some of those can be pretty cool, too) these shows are the perfect place to find unique gifts and treats for yourself. Can anyone say bridesmaids presents? From handcrafted jewellry to saucy silkscreened T’s, Got Craft is the place to find it.

The next show is on July 21st in Kits. Details Here

Wedding Photography Answers, a can’t-miss resource

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on March 7th, 2007

The funny thing about being a wedding photographer is that most people who hire us to document their day have never gone through the process of hiring a wedding photographer before - of course! - and therefore many people struggle with not knowing what questions to ask or how the whole process works.

A group of photographers from all across the globe recognized the gap and set out to develop the largest online resource to date of real information and answers by real wedding photographers for you.

I’m excited to direct you to the new site - designed to take some of the fog out of the process - at http://www.wedfog.com

Hit the “honest answers FAQ” for a pile of questions, and don’t miss all of the different sections over on the side detailing info relevant to all stages of the process.

Happy reading!

Candy!

Posted by Miranda - Vancouver Wedding Photographer on October 24th, 2005

Who doesn’t love candy?

One of the things that makes me wish that we could get married allover again (and trust me, after attending amazing wedding after amazing wedding I have enough great ideas to get married again 10 times over!) is the creative use of candy.

I know I’m just a little kid at heart, and incorporating candy into the day appeals to young and old alike. My favourite way to do this is through a candy table - containers upon containers of different types of candy just ready for the scooping. Fun, colourful, and not all that expensive. And - such a hit!

And to add a touch of personalization, you can even order M&Ms with your own message. They’re a little stuffy about shipping into Canada, but if you can’t convince them to do it you can get a friend to receive them and forward them up. Details here.
