Margo & Sherwin had a wedding that was way too much fun. How can you not laugh with these girls? Their photos are a treat to go through because everyone is smiling and laughing throughout, which is contagious, even through the pictures!

Granville Island hotel set the stage for getting ready and Bridges restaurant ended up being both the ceremony and reception location. DIY details rounded out the day and a trash the dress session to end all trash sessions followed in the afternoon. Vendor cred goes to Unique Boutique, Cupcakes, Chocolate Arts, Etsy.com, and Joyas.ca to name a few.

Shout out to Jenn for second shooting. These girls will be back in the blog later this year, but for now, enjoy!

Pat and John were married at the beginning of the month at Hycroft Manor (The University Women’s Club). Hycroft is probably my most favourite wedding location here in Vancouver… the architecture is stunning, and I love that there are so many rooms and places both indoors and out for guests to mingle in and wander through. Love it!

Highlights of the day started with the gorgeous red gown and extended right to the individual cakes for each table of guests. I decided to pull together a bunch of photos to give just a taste of the day through our eyes!

Congrats again to you both!

This past weekend had us escaping the cold and unseasonal snow of Vancouver and heading to Tofino – which, by some miraculous hand, was gorgeous and sunny – for Jen & Neil’s wedding.

I hardly know where to start. Everything was perfect – from the amazing outfits (two hot numbers each), to the weather, to the grand fireworks finale at the end of the night. Looking back, I can’t think of a single thing that could have been any better.

There are so many images… but I have to choose just a few! Here are just a handful of all the great shots jumping out at me so far!

First up – the shoes. They most definitely deserve to make the blog cut. Jen agonized over her decision between a certain pair of Manolos and this pair of Louboutins. The Louboutins won.

The ceremony was held indoors, with a sweeping view of the beach right behind them.

My favourite reception detail – the cheese cake. Yes, it’s a cake. Or rather, cheese setup in the shape of a cake. Either way, it was delicious, and the symbolism behind them cutting the cheese entertains me to no end!

We headed back outside after dinner for a few sunset photos. Here is Jen, looking amazing in the evening sun.

One of the surprises of the night was the quick outfit change that had these two looking like they’d walked straight out of Hollywood. Wow.

And finally, the guests were treated again at the end of the night with an amazing beach fireworks show. The perfect end to the perfect day.

CONGRATS again, to both of you! It was such a joy to be there. I’m sure you are having a fantastic time in Morocco. We’ll see you when you get back!

What a way to end the year!

Marten & Michelle’s Hotel Vancouver New Year’s Eve wedding was the perfect end to a fantastic year. Way to pull it off!

These two are jetsetting their way off to their new home in Dubai, so it was in many ways as much of a wedding as it was a going away party. Clearly, they won’t be forgotten!

We are always honoured when fellow photographers hire us to photograph them, and this was no exception. We were sure to capture the evidence that Marten really can’t let go of the camera though – we’ve got shots of him shooting Michelle as well as his camera in a prime, head table position ;)

One of my favourite parts about winter is that it’s dark by 4:30, meaning lots of great night shots! Here are 3 from our quick session under the bridge. As they are moving away, we wanted to get photos of the Vancouver skyline.

Who needs time to plan a wedding when you can just whip something together in just a few months?

Guys – you pulled it off seamlessly!

I ADORED the personal touches with the handmade felt boutonnieres and the 1000 paper cranes which extended to the ring bearer “pillow” and the flower girl baskets. Everything was just so uniquely you.

Here are a few of my favourite highlights!
