Reilly and I have been photographing weddings since 2003, and it’s what we’re most well known for. We’ve been honoured to receive some really cool awards and have our work published countless times, but really what matters most is how closely our images are cherished by our couples and the heartfelt thank-you’s we hear from people whose brand new family story has been documented by us. I (Miranda) will admit to crying to this day at every single wedding, and on top of that I can’t tell you how often I hear from people that our images of people they don’t even know have moved them to tears – now that, my darlings, is capturing emotion!
And – that’s what we do. The wedding? It’s over in a flash – the day is a whirlwind of favourite people from near and far, butterflies and nerves, hair and makeup and traditions and delicious food and tears and laughter and dancing… and no matter how hard you try, it’s one day, and then you wake up the next morning and start to play it all back. Some parts are crystal clear, others are out of order, you don’t even remember if the candy table was there because you don’t remember looking for it, and you didn’t see during that first song where your parents cried together over how happy they were for you, because your eyes were closed as you held your partner close and danced the first three songs away in a bubble built for two.
Our job – the reason you bring us along – is to be your eyes on a day where yours will miss things, and where you can’t be everywhere at once. When you replay that day again and again in your heads, when you share it with your friends and family and years down the road when you tell the story to your children and even grandchildren – our images do so much more than share a pretty picture of how nicely you smiled and what you wore. There will be portraits where you are happy and radiant and beautifully posed – but there are also your grandmother’s hands holding yours close, laughter and tears of those who love you, and joy and emotion in every single image that captures the story of your first day as a new family. That’s what we do.
We photograph teeny tiny weddings for two (we’ve been the witnesses many times!) up to multi-day events with hundreds of people spanning across multiple cities. We also photograph couples and engagement portraits, and even Blue Olive After Sessions where you get dressed back up in your wedding finest for a sassy Blue Olive portrait session to get some of our work up on the walls (whether the wedding day didn’t allow for that perfect spot you wanted, or more commonly where you couldn’t have us there on the wedding day at all but still wanted our work on the wall). Our packages are always customizable and we’re happy to build a package to suit your plans, with typical summer Saturday coverage with the two of us for the afternoon and evening with all the high resolution final images starting around $5000. Portrait sessions are available from $395.
You can check out more details about what we do and our wedding & engagement portfolios over on our wedding photography website, and you can browse through a few blog posts as well below (and via the categories and search towards the bottom on the left of the page). Then, get in touch to sort out the details and talk more about the two of you!
Looking forward to hearing from you and planning your session with us! xo!
