Rob & Anna

Who needs time to plan a wedding when you can just whip something together in just a few months?

Guys – you pulled it off seamlessly!

I ADORED the personal touches with the handmade felt boutonnieres and the 1000 paper cranes which extended to the ring bearer “pillow” and the flower girl baskets. Everything was just so uniquely you.

Here are a few of my favourite highlights!

Yan & Darian

Yan & Darian had probably the most unique wedding date of the year – Christmas Eve!

They gathered with their friends and family at the Fairmont Waterfront for an evening of elegance and warmth among those close to them. Everything was gorgeous and Yan looked amazing

These two are off on a bit of a European tour for their honeymoon, but the plan is to get together for even more images in their after session – so keep your eyes opened for more of this pair!

Happy Holidays!

A very quick note just to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season! We’ve been ultra busy with flying and eating and family and even a christmas eve wedding. Great fun!

We have 2 more weddings before the year is out (one on Saturday and another on new year’s eve!) and I’ll look forward to sharing a tonne of great images from all 3 early in the new year as well as finally getting a bit of a break and a chance to sit back and reflect on what a wonderful year we’ve had.

Cheers everyone! I hope you’re enjoying the last days of the year!

We headed out in the sun and frost yesterday to capture these images of Rob & Anna. They are getting married later this month – after starting planning in September! While it’s crazy hectic on the wedding planning front we know they’ll pull off one heck of a fun wedding. They are a riot!

We got some crazy good images – here are my favs!

Loving the reflected light – Reilly found the light, but I take all the credit for this one

Open House – Thank You!

I wanted to say a great big thank you to everyone who came out to our open house this Sunday! It was great to see everyone.

Those who made it out were given among other treats a very cute (if I do say so myself!) calendar designed with our images for 2008. As a bonus for those we’ve photographed the calendar contained all images of them!

We’ve been getting a few requests for more – these 5×7 calendars are accented with a fun vintage damaske pattern and are a great way to show off your images year round. They are available for those interested for $40 or 4 for $125. Get in touch if you’d like us to design one for you.

AisleWalk 2008!

Miranda Blue Olive Photography News Leave a Comment

Last week we attended the launch party for the latest edition of AisleWalk magazine! Our friends Erin Gilmore (publisher) and Tammy Lyon (design) really outdid themselves this time.

As a very hush-hush surprise, they joined forces with artist Karen Parker to create photograph inspired paintings showcasing the art of weddings. The show can be seen at the Art and Soul Gallery at the Pacific Pallisades Hotel 1277 Robson St. through January 8th. And, as a neat twist, we actually met Karen earlier this year when we photographed her brother Eddie’s wedding to Tara – such a small world!

The party was a blast complete with great people, great food, and the oh-so-important photo booth. Here are a couple party shots of me and Reilly and me and Kathy from videographer duo Marliss Productions

Reilly and I were also honoured to be awarded the title of best photo spread for our images in the magazine! We submitted the gorgeous wedding of two of our favourite clients – Sahar and Chris. Here’s what their spread looked like –

We have copies of AisleWalk as well for all the couples coming in to meet with us in the next little while. It’s a great resource!
