Coco & Andy’s Couple Portraits

bop Wedding Photography 2 Comments

Coco & Andy were in town for C’s sister’s wedding, and a portrait session was in order. Given the heat wave we’ve had the past little while, these photos with the overcast skies were simply glorious!

Images from the wedding to come – always fun to photograph people multiple times, and I can’t *wait* to show you her bridesmaid dress 😉

Enjoy!

Katrina & Dan’s Brix Wedding

Brix Restaurant in Yaletown is such a great spot – I love the warmth, the food, the feel… everything!

We definitely have two shooting modes – pure photojournalistic coverage (which is how we tackle the getting ready, ceremony, reception, and all the other parts where everyone’s got something to do!) and our portraits which can be as short as a 15 minute walk around the block (which is pretty much what we did here to get back to the party!) or as long as 3 hours with multiple locations… and regardless of how we tackle the day, we always end up with such a unique set of images that reflect the event. I love looking back over all the smiles, laughs, tears, and moments!

This day for Katrina & Dan was all about enjoying and celebrating with their closest family and friends. Great food, a great DJ, and all the time in the world. Love it!

Katrina got ready down the street at Opus with her girls before heading to her party. Nicole from Down the Aisle wedding coordination kept everything on schedule, with decor rentals from Upright Decor, gorgeous flowers from Evan at Flowerz, and Shari was on board with our team, of course.

Cheers!

Eeeee!

I’m always so in love when I meet the little ones of past brides & grooms, and meeting Mikayla was no different. I didn’t want to put her down, but I’m glad I eventually let go as I’m so in love with these gorgeous images of her with Mom & Dad!

J’adore!

Janice & B’s After Session

bop Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography 5 Comments

We can’t always be there for the wedding day, but I LOVE meeting up with couples who are about to be wed, newly wed, or even a long time wed to capture Blue Olive images for the walls! These wedding flavoured portraits are always a favourite for me.

Janice and I had been speaking for months… they would be flying to Vancouver from Hong Kong and they wanted to connect for their portraits while they were here with the only requests being that they wanted a large dash of humour in their images and to avoid all things sappy and romantic.

A dash of humour, a super fun couple, and full reign on where to go and what to shoot? Love it!

As luck would have it, we were even able to summon a rare Vancouver thunderstorm for the last couple of images before the skies opened. Cheers you two!

Christine and Tim’s Engagement Session

I love these two, which is good because we get to see a lot of them over the next little while! With an upcoming wedding and after session I am super excited to have them behind our lens a time or two yet 😉

Crazy cute, crazy hot in front of the camera, and oh so much fun. I love the diversity in images from one location to the next, and I just got a peek at their wedding guestbook and it looks even better than they look on screen if that’s even possible. Love it!

See you guys soon! Cheers!

Felicia and Nina’s Roedde House Wedding

bop Wedding Photography 1 Comment

I hear so many love stories – stories of how people met, how they got engaged, and so on. And I’ve never heard a story quite like this one.

Felicia & Nina are novelists, and their story is nothing short of a fairy tale.

Their relationship started in separate cities with a letter. A handwritten, pen to paper letter. One came back. Another sent. And so on…

They’d met in a prior lifetime, but for months it was only through pen and paper that they spoke… they became a couple on paper, and they traveled to Vancouver to be wed on the one year anniversary of finally – finally – seeing eachother in person.

They chose the Roedde House museum as it was the home to Vancouver’s first bookbinder, and a perfect setting for this day. We joined them for a few photos before they went on their way, and I wish they lived closer as I know we’d be great friends.

Cheers to you both! Thank you for sharing your day with us. We can’t wait to share your album with you 🙂

Weekly Portrait Round Up!

bop Families & Baby Photography 1 Comment

We’re going to try something new, with a few portrait round up posts! We’re shooting a tonne of portrait sessions these days and there’s just no way to get them all up on the blog, so we’re going to pull a few here and there and get them into larger posts.

So, here goes! We’ve been meeting so many awesome kids lately, and these little guys and gals are just the tip of the iceberg. Always so much personality in tiny little packages 😉

Cheers!
