Wedding Album Showcase

bop Blue Olive Photography News 2 Comments

I found a few more photos of client albums that I wanted to share. I often say that the sky really is the limit with these books and it’s true!

Vertical, horizontal, square, giant sized or teeny tiny, dozens of leathers and other materials for the covers along with metal, canvas, glass and similar options,Β  standard pages or high gloss metallic… we’ll always help narrow things down but if you have a dream for your book we’ll do everything we can to make it happen!

The purple album is now home with Dee & Chris and I love the gorgeous purple suede! The gold accent was just the right complement to highlight their images.

On the right, this two album set belongs to Solmaz & Shahin. I love the two book format – one book features images from the portrait session with just the couple, and the second larger book is for the wedding with images morning to night. White leather with a silver accent was theΒ  cover choice for this one.

Robyn & Chris’ Newborn Portraits

Robyn & Chris were married in 2006 and just after Christmas welcomed their new addition – Eleanor!

We had fun getting to know her while catching up with Robyn & Chris when she was still brand new. It’s crazy how quickly they change, and I love how in just the short time between shooting and delivering the images they’re already so different.

Take care guys! So good to see you, and we look forward to watching her grow!

Linda, Brianne & Allison’s Family Portraits

bop Families & Baby Photography, Portraits 1 Comment

We spend so much time documenting the lives of so many great people, sometimes it’s an unexpected treat to get to document our own family! When we were in Edmonton for Kayla & Robert’s wedding we were able to head out with my auntie Linda and cousins Brianne & Alli for a super chilly but completely fun portrait session!

Fort Saskatchewan never looked so good πŸ˜‰

Kayla & Robert’s Engagement Session

bop Engagement Photography, Portraits Leave a Comment

We do a lot of guestbooks, albums, wall pieces, and other products and I really need to be taking photos of these things to share with you! I love seeing the images in print – the screen can just never compare.

Kayla & Robert’s wedding was a bit of a whirlwind, but we were able to meet up with them a few days before the wedding when we both landed in town to capture the engagement images that would be in their guestbook that week. Designing, printing, and assembling a book like this out of a hotel room on a laptop isn’t anywhere near ideal, but I really wanted to pull this together for them, so we made it happen.

Here are just a few mockups of the pages along with a shot we had of the cover for their book! The blank spaces are intended for guest signatures and messages, and all the images were shot around Edmonton. These books are such a great way to show off the engagement photos on the wedding day, and always get such rave reviews. So much better than a boring book with rows of signatures!

Kayla & Robert’s Edmonton Wedding

bop Wedding Photography Leave a Comment

It is always fun to travel, especially when we get to visit old haunts. And for that, we were super stoked to shoot Kayla & Robert’s Edmonton wedding in October!

These two live North… wayyyy North in Fort Good Hope NWT, to be exact. While it would have been entirely an experience to photograph a wedding there, Edmonton just made so much more sense for all the family and friends who also needed to get to the wedding πŸ˜‰

Nevertheless, we were thrilled to join them along with Shari for their wedding at the Mayfield Inn. And, while the weather really didn’t want to cooperate, we were able to head out for an after session to many of our favorite e-town spots the day after.

We’re working on all of the album designs now and picking out just the right images for the wall – all of which I can’t wait for, because it’s always fun when the products come in. Can’t wait!

Ria’s Intimate Portraits

bop Fashion & Other Photography, Portraits Leave a Comment

We met up with Ria before Christmas to capture a series of images as a present to her boyfriend. It’s always fun knowing someone is opening our work on Christmas morning, and I hear he loved them (who wouldn’t?!)

Shooting Ria was completely effortless and a total treat. Cheers to you! I hope you guys are settling into your new home!

Jenny & Anthony’s Cecil Green Wedding

bop Wedding Photography Leave a Comment

I hope everyone in town is getting out to enjoy some of the Olympic fun! We just got back from lunch at the Swiss House and ran into one of our upcoming brides (hello!!), so that was a nice touch to our dutiful yet tasty line-up-for-food adventure. More than the official crowd stuff, I’m loving all the excuses to hang out with friends while watching the medal events. Tonight we’re having a few people over to watch the snowboarding halfpipe competition – in the comfort of our place, where beer *doesn’t* cost $9 πŸ˜‰ The only challenge currently is that we have to keep moving the TV downstairs for when we’re working in the office so we can keep an eye on the action!

OK – we’re into October weddings now. Shari joined Reilly for Jenny & Anthony’s wedding, and we’re excited to have her on board for most of our weddings in the coming year. It’s going to be such a great year! Jenny & Anthony were married at Cecil Green and following their photo session Victoria Chinese Restaurant held the reception. I know I sound like a broken record sometimes, but what a fun wedding! Just look at the smiles and joy in these photos – our job is so easy when everyone is just having such an amazing time. And really, Jenny is about as cute as you can get, the photos are just a reflection of that. I’m working on their album now and it’s so hard to narrow down the images – I want to use them all!

More to come tomorrow! Enjoy the sunshine!

Michelle & Jonathan’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden Wedding

bop Wedding Photography Leave a Comment

Michelle is one of those super cheerful people who is simply a blast to be around, making photographing their wedding a tonne of fun!

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen gardens set the stage for the ceremony following a tour of many of our favorite photo locations from alleys to bridges to Coal Harbour and Stanley Park. Kirin Restaurant downtown was the reception venue of choice, and we were even able to head outside for a quick night session.

Next up: figuring out wall art! Chat soon guys!

This was the last wedding of the year for Tamara who shot with Reilly July to September, and she’s back in San Francisco now. A huge shout out to her for a fantastic season with us! It was such a treat to have you on our team, and we can’t wait to hear about your upcoming wedding and adventures. Cheers!
