Tanya & Uli’s Brock House Wedding

bop Wedding Photography 1 Comment

Tanya & Uli held the challenging feat of planning their Brock House Restaurant wedding from England, but the treat with Brock House is that there is so little to do after booking them! It’s one of our  very favorite venues as it shows off the Vancouver landscape so well and we know everything is going to go so smoothly as Gail and her team are a dream to work with.

I love weddings that are really about the connections – family and friends there to celebrate. This was one of those weddings. So many heartfelt hugs, tears, speeches… what an absolute treat! Reilly and Tamara photographed this one and commented how much of a warm welcome they received – it’s such an honour to feel like part of the family.

Cheers guys!

Valentine, Be Mine!

So many things – Happy Valentine’s Day! Happy Chinese New Year! Hello Abby! (we saw you in the parade!) Add on the Olympics and WOW there is a lot going on!

Of course, a huge HELLO and CONGRATS! to all the gals who find themselves with a ring today and start browsing around as well 😉

For us – just got back from the parade to a huge, gorgeous arrangement from Reilly (awwwww) and I’m chilling the champagne for mimosas as we have friends en route for Valentine’s day brunch at our place. After that – who knows! It’s sunny and warm here today, and while I feel this way most days, I’m really loving Vancouver right now 🙂

Cheers, Everyone!

(This is a shot from Alanna & Ben’s wedding which you’ll see shortly, but it’s got pink in it and it’s happy, so it seems a good addition to today’s post 😉 )

Arli & Nick’s Terminal City Club Wedding

bop Wedding Photography 3 Comments

OK!

So that totally hot, fun couple we shared on Thursday with their engagement photos? Yup – they got hitched. VanDusen Garden held the ceremony followed by a kick ass photo session with Reilly & Tamara and of course their Terminal City Club reception.

One of my favorite parts of finishing a wedding is hearing back…

WOW! Worth the wait!!! Thank you so much…..they really look amazing!! We absolutely love them! We can’t thank you enough! We are really excited to go through them some more! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Now, I know Nick is following along with the February blogging marathon thing trying to catch us missing a day, but it won’t be this day. It would be totally fun to do a “one year after” shoot with these guys later this year, so maybe if they’re on the ball and we hit the end of the month they’ll be able to snag one of the sessions we’ve got up for grabs 😉

Cheers!

Today is Reilly’s birthday and the official start of the Olympics, so we’ll resume our regularly scheduled blogging tomorrow. There’s just so much going on!

It’s hard not to get swept up in all the excitement – we saw the torch last night, and Reilly was out of the house just after 5am this morning to check it out again coming across the Lions Gate bridge. A stop back at the studio had us here just in time for our friend Steven’s surprise visit in his Olympic ride – a decked out mini from Canon! Seems that a few of the big-shot media folks get to ride around with giant cameras on the roof, so it was only fitting that he stopped by to say hello.

Reilly is back out spending his birthday exactly how he wants to – photographing the sights and sounds of all those downtown celebrating. I’m just getting organized to head over to a friend’s where a bunch of us are gathering in anticipation of the opening ceremonies tonight. We were super fortunate to attend one of the opening ceremonies dress rehearsals a couple of days ago thanks to our good friend Shan who is performing in the closing ceremonies and involved in the broadcast tonight, and while I definitely won’t spill the beans I will say WOW. You are all in for an incredible treat, and I can’t wait to see it with all the final polish and energy that will be there tonight. The performances are oh-so-Canadian and I will say (but shhhh – don’t tell him!) it left both Reilly and I with tears in our eyes. I am so excited for everyone to see.

So! Regularly scheduled post tomorrow, I hope everyone has an INCREDIBLE day today, and enjoy it! Here are a few quick snapshots from last night and this morning (I mean, I still have to include *something* pretty to look at 😉

Cheers!

Arli & Nick’s Engagement Session

bop Engagement Photography, Portraits 2 Comments

You know how sometimes, you were sure you did something but it turns out you actually didn’t? Yeah. The files for the blog were done for these guys, only, somehow they never actually made it to the blog.

Nevertheless, here they are! Tomorrow I’ll be sharing Arli & Nick’s wedding, so I thought it fitting to slip these in here today.

I loved that we got to play with their beetle for their shoot – having a vintage VW ourselves we totally love the car, but it also gives something a bit more personal to play with 🙂

Colleen, Bernie & FAMILY!

bop Families & Baby Photography 5 Comments

Just a few short weeks after Mom & Dad tied the knot, baby Max decided enough was enough and came early! He had to spend some time at the hospital but once he was home we got to visit and capture these images over the holidays.

Have I mentioned recently how much I love it when we get to see our couples again, and especially so when they are welcoming new ones into their lives? We’ve got a couple more of these to share from the past little while, and even one or two we’re just waiting to arrive 🙂

Congrats congrats on your beautiful little guy! I know you guys are away but we’ll chat when you’re back home.

Cheers!

Colleen & Bernie’s Beach House Restaurant Wedding

bop Wedding Photography 2 Comments

Does it make me a bad person if I *really* want to share 2 posts at once – with the newest addition to Colleen & Bernie’s little family – but need to pace myself with the posting every day thing? 😉 First thing Wednesday morning check back for that!

SO – Colleen & Bernie chose the Beach House at Dundarave Pier for their fall wedding. It was a tiny one for us with just Reilly photographing for a few hours, but the room was full with a great bunch of family and friends there to celebrate the knot tying!

Our good friend Evan over at Flowerz did amazing work on adding colour to the day, the work they do is *always* incredible so for anyone looking for flowers be sure to stop by the shop.

I also have to say that this is officially our first streaker at a wedding – yup, our photo session was interrupted by that nekid bum you see there, but at least it was caught on camera 😉

Daphne & John’s Cecil Green Park House Wedding

bop Wedding Photography 4 Comments

I always give a lot of credit to couples who are able to pull together all the wedding details remotely – in this case, Daphne & John travelled to Vancouver from their home in Virginia for their wedding.

Cecil Green was the reception venue of choice, and between the venue and their great team of wedding vendors, it’s no surprise that they were able to pull everything off without a hitch! They were treated to a truly gorgeous day with so many loving family and friends who joined them to celebrate. As we are designing the album now I can’t help but smile and laugh right along with everyone – cheers to you guys!

Lots of vendor shout outs here – Tamara joined Reilly for the Blue Olive Team, The Finer Details was responsible for coordination, A Unique Boutique did the flowers and rentals, Hot Wax took care of the music, and True Confections made the delicious cake.
