Aislewalk is definitely our favorite little magazine out there, and I love that the purse-sized format lends itself to being carried around by all the gals planning their weddings! We always get a pile to hand out here at the studio, but I find that it’s so hard to give away as everyone already has a copy – and often, they’ve got it on them. Awesome!
We were excited to share some of the DIY details of Marina & Ivo’s May wedding in the 2010 issue of Aislewalk. Their wedding was complete class, and the surprise is that they did it on a fairly DIY budget, enlisting family and friends to do everything from helping arrange flowers to painting the custom artwork that would accent their day. The result: complete high end style on a budget they could live on. Thanks to Tracey for joining Reilly & me for this one! Definitely check out the images from our first blog post, I’m pretty sure some of those guys must *still* be recovering 😉
For this issue of Aislewalk Reilly also photographed the jewelery spreads, so we’ve got a few pages to be proud of here.

Our images have graced the pages of a few magazines lately, so it’s probably time I shared those with you!
First up, we were contacted by Weddingbells Magazine for images from Amber & Shane’s wedding for their fall/winter issue. That wedding was photographed by Reilly and Tracey and the feature focused on all the details that went into their day. You can go back and see our original blog post with more of their images here, and we’ve got a small copy of their wedding album here in studio as well that you can check out if you come in to meet with us!
I always love it when past clients refer their friends, especially ones as cute and fun as Elena & Brad 😉
VanDusen Botanical Gardens was the venue of choice for both the ceremony and reception, all of which was simply beautiful! The lovely Sarah Shore of Dreamgroup painstakingly pulled everything together, and the team was further rounded out with Halfyard Designs for flowers/decor, Savoury Chef for the incredible food (their menu and a few more photos are up there!), and Reilly & Tamara for the Blue Olive team.
We’re just finalizing the album design as well which I am excited about – I especially love the effect of the fabric draping for the tent during the ceremony, and can’t wait to see everything in print!
I’m pretty sure I could go on and on and on with these photos, but I decided to pick out just a few focussing on the photo session for these guys. (Oh nevermind – can’t do it. Jump over to their highlights slideshow to see more!)
When Renee & Cameron got in touch saying they were friends with Stef & Kevin, we knew instantly we were going to love them – and we did!
Their wedding was full of unique and quirky elements, and for their photo session we needed something to match – and after a couple of hours driving to every corner of the city we could find, we found the perfect spots. The sky was GORGEOUS that day which made it all that much better and the perfect photo session was born! We have an album in the studio with some of our favorite images so definitely check it out if you come in to meet with us.
ANYWAYS – Renee & Cameron, we <3 you. Reilly and Tamara had a blast on the day, and I’m still having fun planning what to do with your images (at least one will grace the walls of the new studio when we hang new stuff).

You didn’t really think I’d miss my very first day in the month long blogathon, did you? 😉
First up we have Judith & Colin who were married way back in the summer at one of our favorite venues – Swaneset Bay! The gals at Swaneset – Holly & Chelsea in particular – are a dream to work with, as we always know things are going to run smoothly which is such a stress-saver.
Judith described what she wanted in her wedding day as elegant and timeless – and her wedding was exactly that. Perfect venue, beautiful day, gorgeous bride, great looking groom. What more could you ask for?!
Reilly & Tamara photographed this one, with two notable vendor shout outs going to Bobi at Radke designs for the decor and flowers and Rev. Brent Sheppard who is always one of our very favorite officiants to work with!
Next up for these two: finalizing this beautiful album design and getting the final book into their hands. Can’t wait!

We’ve got a ridiculous pile of unseen weddings and portraits from the past few months, just waiting to be shared. Many of you are deep into wedding planning for this summer, so what better time to pull out all the gorgeous images we have stockpiled as inspiration?! It’s like our own little sporting event, Blue Olive style 😉

What a great week!
We were super excited to play host this week to nearly 100 photographers over two days who gathered at our new studio for the Becker Workshop. Becker is a wedding photographer out of Orange County, California and he traveled up to share all sorts of tips and tricks with local photographers. So much great info!
Huge shout out to our very dear friend (and occasional Olive!) Tracey who put everything together, and of course to all the great photographer friends new and old who we got to spend time with this week. Was so great to have you all!
